I recently got a ps3 and I felt it was very warm and the fan very loud - and it was like that straight out of the box. I thought it was a fault so I got it replaced today but the new one is the same.

Is this normal or should I get it replaced again?

The temperature in my room is around 25 deg, and I can here the fan from a couple of meters distance. Some of my friends told me thay can hear it only if they put the ear next to it and that its warm to touch and not hot.
