Once in a while a keep seeing posts about movies and popcorn. and I love popcorn. I love making my own popcorn, melting salted butter from Bretagne, mixing it all together, and then enjoying my movie with my blanket and buttery popcorn on my couch on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
I haven’t had popcorn at the cinema in a while, because they were just overly salty making me soo unbearably thirsty (more thirsty than the recommended 'popcorn menus' they usually offer including one drink) . So does good cinema popcorn exist? In Geneva? If so, please enlighten me.
(and who eats sugery popcorn anyway?)

i've a big screen at home and plenty of dvds.... how about you bring the popcorn and show me how it's really done (with the salty butter from bretagne etc) and i provide the blankets + drinks + screen + movie (to be agreed upon) ???? :-)
i've never had anything else than rubbish popcorn in the geneva cinemas, and i agree, most of the time it was far too salty, can't be good for one's health !!!
cheers - nat

i think the sugar popcorn is an English thing, i remeber that we never had the choice but sugar popcorn until the multiplexes came to England, before that it was only sugar so, for us English people (at least those of us over a certain age) popcorn is a sweet, not a savoury.
having said that i am with you on the nice butter and little bit of salt, i have a popcorn maker at home (like a big hairdryer with a spout!) and love to settle down with a movie and eat popcorn til i feel sick :-)

about the popcorn makers. i know what you're talking about... a person here at work has one and makes it to go with the afternoon tea (yeah i know, have they never heard of biscuits???) but they dont have that nice crunchiness to them, they just kind stick in your teeth in a weird way. but maybe thats because we drink tea at the same time, i dont know.
i stick to the old fashioned popcorn kernels and then the pan with a bit of oil, or if i feel uber-modern get the microwavable kind ;)
