experience regarding requête de mainlevée

Hi,

I received a letter from Office de Poursuite that a company that suppose to pay me debt, has made opposition.

As a next step I heard I can do "requête de mainlevée".

From that what I understood it is a process happening in tribunal, when an accused one have to proove in front of the judge that he is innocent, whereas the other person, accusing the first one, is in a court just an observer.

Is above correct? And is it more efficient solution than Office Poursuite, where you can simply without any problem make an opposition?

Thanks in advance for info from any person who has experience in this process.

Thank you for your feedback.

The point is that the amount of dispute is too low to engage a lawyer. That is why I prefer to do it on my own.
