fair trade

any advice? cigars bought at dutyfree in geneva airport, taken back to uk. opened, discovered to be dry wth white spots. shop contacted, reciept requested - reciept is lost but bank details of card payment can be supplied. This was declined by shop and because no actual reciept or scan of reciept can be produced, shop is refusing to do anything about faulty product.

Is there a swiss version of a Fair Trading office which can be contacted?

thankyou if you can help. J

Well if you bought this using a credit card and you are with a decent bank ask your bank to decline the payment. If its a good bank they wont charge you and then the bank lawyers will handle this directly with the shop. If you do this, you will likely not be able to shop ever again at that shop or any shop they are "good friends with" though...

thanks for the reply. article was paid for with bank debit card. main problem is that bank charge shows a global price - perfume was bought at same time. so i can appreciate the shop's point of view at the item inparticular is not mentioned.. however the shop does agree there was a problem with the humidifier at the time of purchase - cigars. any way, it was a family member's purchase and since then the cigars have been smoked (apparently if you put a lettuce or cabbage leaf in with the cigars it rehydrates them enough for a good smoke).
