Dear Glocals,


I need a mobile subscription and I tried getting FREE (free.fr) on one of theire Borne machines in Annemasse. However, the machine does not accept any of my non-French cards ( I have many).


Since I live in France, I really need a French phone. I also have an account but I did not want another bank card since I do not need it (I think bank cards from 4 countries are enough).


My question: would anyone be willing to help me just to get the simcard? I will immediately change the acount details online so you will never be charged in the future.


I will refund you foir these inital costs (20-30EUR) and also offer a gift and be SUPER grateful...

Hi Dasa,


i think you can order a Free sim card by going on their website, fill in the form and just add your French bank details without having to input a bank card number.

If you can use other operators, you can also arraange it directly in their shops (if you don't want to do it online). E.g. at one of the many SFR or Organge shops. Bring a RIB.


In addition, if you don't plan on using it much, you can use pre-paid. Leclerc-mobile has the advantage that the pre-paid lasts forever, whereas most others have a very short delai. If interested, see https://www.reglomobile.fr/offres/formule-mini-plus.aspx

Website does not work because they want you to pay for the simcard with a French credit card. The Bank account is OK, but the French credit card is where I aslo have a problem. All online operators demand a French credit card, a foreign one does not work (I was told that over the phone by SOSH, the low cost of SFR). 


SFR, Orange or Bouygues do not have such a great data deal as Free...I will use this internet also at home so I could use the 50GB Free is offering (for 20EUR monthly thats a bargain).


Thanks anyways, I will keep looking, ask another colleague if she could help and if not, get another bank card...

I don't think you can use someone else's card to buy the sim card because this is a subscription. I have this Free mobile subscription and they take the 20 Euros from my French card every month.
