HI Claudi,

I think what you need is in this site, under "importation d'un vehicule".

http://www.ge.ch/san/immatriculation/welcome.asp?titre=Immatriculation

I cant find it in English, maybe you can use google translate.

I hope it helps.

Hi Claudi

I am planning to import my French car as well. But I can already tell you that it is quite complicated and painful to do. Buying the car in Switzerland makes life much easier I am afraid.

From what I already understand you have to inform French customs that you import the car in Switzerland, then Swiss customs (where you have to provide lots of documents and forms) who then provide you another form in order for you to start the process of importing the car. For this you need to have a technical control done by Swiss authorities to the car, change your driving licence for a Swiss one (if you have a foreign licence) and change the plates. You have to pay for all these operations of course.

If I were you I would call the car office of Geneva as I would imagine that they speak english. They should provide you with the whole list of things to do to import the car. Their number is 0041 (0)22 388 3030

I will also let you know what I discover during my own import process to help you.

hope this helps...
