Hi Everyone, I finally found an appartment and will be moving on Thursday. 
However the kitchen is not equipped. I don't have the budget to buy new appliances and was wondering if anyone is getting rid of their fridge or oven/hotplates ? Or any ideas on where to find cheap second hand options are also welcome! Thanks a million in advance! Cheers! Geerte

You could try Emmaus and Centre Sociale Protestant, Caritas and ?Salvation Army shops

It might be worth it, to consider looking at current models all the same, taking into account the dire pronouncements at the moment about energy shortages this winter which will raise energy prices/running costs. OLder models may be more expensive to run.
In that case go look in stores such as Conforama in Meyrin and Media Markt in Meyrin and Acacias/ Carouge.
The stock may very well not be the same exactly In them both, as although both operate under the umbrella of Conforama, both are managed independantly from each other.. ( there’s a word for that, but it escapes me at the moment,)

The Conforama shop and the Media Markt shops are separate entirely from esch other
It's the 2 Media Markt ones that may sometimes have different models in them.

Why not look at the Classifieds on glocals?
You will find some very good offers by glocal members who are relocating as well as the opportunity to place an ad. of your own.
The facility can also be a very good way to make new friends.
