language exchange chat rooms-sites
I am teaching English to a Russian student and he asked me if there were any sites where people go online - like a chat room, but especailly to improve their language skills.

He would be wanting to practise his english. I suggested an ordinary chat room, friend making place, but he rightly said that perhaps it might not be so interesting for the other person if they wanted to make small talk and you wanted to know how to conjugate a verb in the past perfect...!

Does any one know any sites like this?

It would be a good resource to practise my French too!

Thanks, Colette

[quote]Bonjour Colette,

That's a good question !!!

I'm not sure you could find such help in a chat room, people are always happy to chat, but not really about a particular point of grammar....

Perhaps you could find some websites with google

I actually found my best help in friends I've made on a forum about things i love, on social networks, (I even discovered a fabulous british music band) and in some books about grammar and verbs I've bought.

I read the books again and again, and i chat with friends on messenger or with penpals. Some are learning french so it's helpful for both.

And I'm quite happy with that.

My advice ? Create a page on a social network, saying why you're there and what you're looking for, and if you've got some passions (like me for Doctor Who and Billie Piper and some other extraordinary actors), find a forum.

And eventually have fun !!!

I quite sure it's not exactly the answer you were waiting for but who knows....

About your french, well if you are in Geneva, we speak french there...

Bertrand, the Genevan whovian !
