looking for a lawer advice

I was working as a nanny in Geneva, and in the mean time studying in Romania.Last month, just 1h before going to the airport to travel to Romania for my exams (which i agreed with my boss and she accepted) ,my boss fired me without any real reasons.

There s anything i can do in this case?Do i have any right?

I worked for her for 2 and a half years, and she lied me about the permit and a contract untill last year in august, when i got a permit, but without signing any contract with her.

If anybody can help me with an advice.

Thank u in advance.

Sorry to hear that Chris.Frown

I think that you can go to Prud'hommes with this case. It is the Organization that deals with issues between employees and employers. The procedure is free. Find out about them. You will have to prove that you worked for this person and to therefore demand that that your rights be respected.

You can get cheap legal advice here. Choose yourself:

http://www.ge.ch/egalite/adresses-utiles/?rubrique=conseils-juridiques-tous-domaines

Link to Prud'hommes Tribunal :

Good luck !

Hello Chris,

I would certainly not advise you to go to Prud'hommes nor OCIRT nor any other official cantonal office before getting advice from a private laywer. As you say yourself that you worked without a permit for over a year, an official instance may fine your employer and make them pay any past unpaid social benefits; but may also kick you out of the country at the same time. If you read French, this article explains this:

I would advise that you go see a lawyer at the Permanence (60 francs for 1 hour), where Geneva private lawyers volunteer one day of the year.

Permanence de l'ordre des avocats
Monday-Friday 10am-7pm
English spoken, no appointment needed
Rue Verdaine 13
022 310 24 11

Good luck!
