I am very interested in heading to a forest on a hike and pick mushrooms.. but don't know how and with who? Does any one do this? Or do you know of a place where i can go with the right person - so that i don't poison myself with something weird!?

Hi there
Someone should start a mushroom picking group. I would love that. I know a few mushrooms but I am no way an expert or good enough to start such a group.
Hopefully someone will have that idea soon enough

WRONG !!!
It is Morchella (la morille) one of the most succulent mushroom you could possibly pick along with Amanite des cesars.
These come along in spring only. You are confusing it with Gyromitre which apparently looks like morille.
Morille are the easisest delicious mushrooms to identifiy
I do no a little bit about mushrooms and I have sufficiently rejoiced on eating these little chaps
