questions about your skin or body

Hello

Who has questions on beauty treatments, selection of cosmetic products, or losing weight?

I am glad to share my knowledge with everyone if I can help.

a good question, eat starch; potatoes, wheat, maize (corn), rice, and cassava.always eat more than your body needs, BUT nutrition balance is still important.

Maria, don't worry, you just have to be patient and wait, your body weight will magically increase as you get into middle age.

Pregnancy (twins or other multiples being best).  (Trust me - I'm a doctor!). How long did you want to maintain this weight?

First of all one has to be careful/cynical/sceptical about body height/weight charts.  What is 'normal' in one society and era differs from others.  My first son from a very healthy pregnancy weighed 2.94 kg and measured 50 cm. putting him in one of the lowest percentiles.  For a while he didn't gain weight at the normal weekly rate (forgotten all the details as he is 21 and I graduated medicine in '92).  He is now my height and more or less my build (without the potbelly).  Three years back I was fanatically exercising (800 cals. burnt treadmill running in the morning and 800 uphill walking uphill evenings the same day, plus probably a few thousand biking 2-4 hours and fast walking 2 hours all in the same day - I was unemployed and had a lot of time on my hands.  I gained about 5-7 kg without really eating more but perhaps absorbing more and building muscle.  You are probably sporty so this probably is no solution.  I believe in the simple math of calories in and out.  So eat more to gain weight.  But to be a 'fit' weight gainer exercise as well.  Or just be content with who you are and accept you are normal.

All this from a non-dietician I must confess but one who has seen so many weight losing books appear on bookshelves over the years with their 'facts' that I don't believe much in weight gaining techniques relating to types of foods (fast carbs vs. slow carbs etc.).  Sorry not to have given you a miracle cure recipe but at least food for thought!

i agree with marksist and i know your weight gaining plight

everyones always in a hurry to get on. if they knew on meant death everyone would slow down and take in the scenery!

last year as a 6ft male was the first time i'd ever been over 76 kg...a life time of hurt! lol now in my 40's i no longer care but here is what it took.

unemployement is key! a lot of time on your hands lol and 6 meals a day, not  big ones but it went a little something like this.

7am porridge with bananas and raisins or whatever

10am healthy fry up, poached eggs etc..

1pm lunch chicken or fish with veg

4pm homemade fruit salad orange, apple, banana, oats, raisins, almonds fromage blanc or cottage cheese etc

7pm dinner time! opposite to 1pm fish or chicken (non red meat eater)

10pm as i started the day porridge

your putting in more than your using up, if you wanna know exactly? is used a website called fatsecret and put there app on my phone so i knew what was going in and coming out (not visuallly) tut tut!

it took me 2 months to reach my target weight and now i hit the gym 4 days a week hard to get rid of my tummy...lol
