I have acquired two adorable, 4 month old kittens. I prefer to hedge my bets against life and would like to get insurance for them.
Does anyone have experiences with pet insurance in Switzerland? Good, bad, indifferent?

I moved to Switzerland from Denmark and brought my dog, however I kept my dog registered in Denmark as the insurance is much cheaper, and as I lived close to the french boarder I could use the french vets (as France is part of the EU) which are also a lot cheaper than the swiss - if this is an option you should definitely do that :-)

different insurance companies exists for animals.
The main idea of those is to cover treatement fees in case of illness or accident, you may also cover both.
You may also ask for a death lumpsum, but it is more adapted to larger or more expensive animals like horses.
