Oi Veronica!
This is an interesting question! I've tried to find samba classes in Geneva but there aren't actually that many. There is a Brazilian community here but it's hard to find it...For the dance classes I would suggest: Dance Area dance school (which is amazing) and has a teacher who teaches samba, axé, and other brazilian dances as well as a course which I think is a mix between contemporary, african and brazilian... Then there's also a woman who owns a company called Miss Samba show and I think she also teaches classes so you could try googling her and getting in touch.
For outings there is the Copacabana café in Plainpalais which is great for cheesy Brazilian tunes and karaoké. For ex: lots of axé music so if you're missing that kind of stuff go there! The atmosphere is good and the people are very nice.
Finally there is the associaçao Raizes which teaches language classes for Brazilians and people who want to learn portuguese. They might know something about the Brazilian community here in Geneva and dance classes. They are actually organizing a Brazilian samba carnival party tonight at the Palladium if you want to go. It should be fun!
Voila, hope this helps and let me know if you find anything good

Bom dia Veronica,
Tudo bem? I go to samba classes every wednesday night with Veronice alias "Miss Samba Show". She's a very good dancer and she's teaching now through that school www.coursbravo.ch.
Até mais!

Robi, I've heard of that place before! I think perhaps it's still on, if we're thinking of the same place, though I've never been. That sounds like a lot of fun! I used to be really into the Brazilian culture when I was in London but it was different there because there were so many opportunities to go dancing whether it be classes or clubs and lots of music etc. I've kind of lost track here because I was disappointed by the quality but I guess I haven't tried very hard either. Getting a group together to go to one of these places sounds good :-)

ciao Robi
indeed I met yesterday the people from the association Unidos de Geneva "GRES"
Do you know them ?
they have a Batteria de samba, it seems very good and I will start an instrument there also!
this sunday in paris, a lot of bars will celebrate the Carnaval, if some of you are around let me know.
regarding the flat, I met for the first time the "regie"...humm I have to be familiarize with their behaviour.
I might look for sharing a flat since i do not knwo very well the town and i do not want to commit myself for one year without knowing the city.
I m returning to paris tonigh, and will be there soon for good.
hope you feel better meanwhile,
