Are there any restrictions on using online stores based outside of Switzerland and getting items shipped into Geneva (i.e. import duty etc.)?
or alternatively, does anyone know where I can buy boxing shoes in Geneva?

there are not usually any restrictions on buying onlinein Switzerland. But please be aware , that should you buy outside of the country you will be subjected to the usual Swiss import laws, and have to pay import tax/duty on any item over 66chf in value. if item is sent via swiss post, there is usually an extra 20chf charge on top of the import duty.

Yep import tax, even if the item is declared low value :(
