swiss medical insurance for a person living in France

Hi, I just moved to France and need to change my medical insurance. It would be for myself and 2 kids.

2 questions

1 I still want to use my doctors and pediatrition in switzerland and be covered.

2 I know they have frontaliers insurance but will it be cut of in 2014 when the law changes on medial insurance?

Therefore I was wondering if there was a compnay in Switzerland that will cover the address in France so I can still be covered for my doctors in Switzerland when the law changes?

This border living is complicated :(

hi, i can only think of two possible solutions.

1,  maintain a permanent address in switzerland ( i.e studio or small apt. anywhere. - as you are swiss and so are your kids)

2,  find an international insurance company that offers worldwide coverage.

i know that if you give up your swiss residence you lose coverage.

find an international insurance company that offers worldwide coverage. that would seem to be your only solution.

Moving to France means being insured YOU, your children and your spouse by Social Security Insurance (government institution). In addition you can contract separately a Complementary insurance with a company that takes care of refunding above the basic costs that Social Security will pay you in return for your bills. Monthly fees and premiums of the Complementary depends on coverage extension you wish, like in your case coverage in Switzerland, private bedroom in case of hospitalisation in Geneva, optician and/or dentist and/or private specialist refunded 400X the Social Security base more or less...All can be studied "à la carte". If needed PM me with your details . Hope this is helpful.

Most frontaliere are outside both the French and Swiss systems and have their own insurance which covers all bills not just a complementary insurance. This normally covers both French and Swiss medical costs.

If you are working in Switzerland you can still be covered by the Swiss LaMal system, even if you move to France. This will probably be your best option long term, since you will avoid being automatically transferred to the French social security system in 2013/2014 whenever the frontalier insurance is phased out. Short term the frontalier insurance is much better value than either the French or Swiss system.
