take physical exercise VS make physical exercise

Hi everyone,

I have read both expressions and, in fact, I am not quite sure which is the most suitable in english.

Can somebody help with this? Thanks a lot.

both sound wrong to me. You can say "get physical excercise" if telling someone to go work out but like Anita said, it's just 'do'.

It would really depend on the context. Both can be used as phrases, for example: "make physical exercise part of your life" or "it is mandatory for students to take physical exercise at school".

But on its own, I would use "get physical exercise" or "do physical exercise" as mentioned before. However, as a standalone verb without object "take physical exercise" works too.

Hope this helps.
