A large shipment of illigal cds and dvds was confiscated in Singapore. The booty was discovered by two dogs.
The dogs have been trained to detect polycarbonates, chemicals used in the disc manufacturing process. They cannot tell the difference between real and pirated discs, but can detect discs hidden in shipments or concealed places.
Aron Wrinker, who runs a canine school says that soon this will be solved. 'We are working on getting our dogs to sniff the difference between pirated and the real ones but it's taking more time than we first expected. At present the success rate is one in five."
