in memory of my home town that they call twice, New York, New York, I feel compelled to give a shout out to all those who still greive for their loss of family, friends, colleagues. i hope with the passage of time the sense of pain and loss you may have experienced continues to heal.
i was lucky enough to be working in the Tokyo office during this time, only to be watching the news unfold on tv half way around the world of what was going on at the buildings across my NY office; otherwise the thought that i would have been walking from the across the street from tower 1 to my office at the exact time as the first plane hit the towers continues to haunt me, as well as the loss of too many friends.
as i look out the window into this beatiful sunny day, it reminds me how fortunate we are to be living in such peace and serenity. wishing all a peaceful day.

what's even worse, is the number of people dying from cancers that stem from inhaling all the dust afterwards.
a date to remember, but let's not forget many other people die everyday, be it from war, famine, disease, you name it, and they should also be in our thoughts.

I was at work in Geneva, when I heard what's taking place in the USA.
At that time, my brother lived in Manhattan. And althogh he didn't work at the Towers, he lived not far from them. The first thing that went through my mind was blinding fear for him.
The same thoght went throgh my entire family's minds, and we all started calling him in hysteria. We eventually got throgh, and were relieved to know he's OK.
But those 30 min of hysteria that I went throgh were just a tiny taste of what so many families went throgh, only to find out that their loved one is gone...On this sad day, my thoghts are with those families.
