id like to meet with people who are already involved in organisations that promote direct democracy. just to be clear im not interested in the eu, the world bank, the wto, etc.... im interested in organisations that put local people in charge of their own communities - in terms of policing, healthcare and taxes, with no strings attached. ive already organised real grass-roots movements in my own country and would love to meet others who have done the same. and no, im not a terrorist, just an old school democrat.
on a personal note id love to meet with other people who admire chavez and the work he and the venezuelan people have done over the last few years. nationalising the oil industry was sooooo brave, its a miracle he's still alive and in power, (unlike poor Omar Torrijos, Mohammed Mossadegh, Arbenz, Salvador Allende). among other things this move financed a national health plan as well as literacy programmes for the population. its wonderful and inspiring to see that people are motivated about getting involved in their own politics! i wish my country had a chavez and a motivated population to sort out our health care problems. im also a big chomsky fan and i quite like aljazeera english (though obviously its far from perfect). george carlin was a hero and carl sagan's book on critical thinking, if read by every tv viewer in america, would put an end to fox news, msnbc and everything else inbetween in one evening....
to complete the picture - im not a fan of 'free' trade, the eu or right wingers.
thank you for taking the time to read this. if ur interested in sharing ur thoughts please send me a mail and i'll organise a venue. otherwise enjoy ur day.
