Depends on your bank in the UK, but I've found the cheapest way is withdraw from an ATM using a debit card. My UK bank (RBS) charges 2% for ATM withdrawls, with min/max charges of £2/£5. Check with your bank, they usually have the information on their website.

I would withdraw as little money as possible from a UK,bank account until the exchange rate is more favourable.  But if you have to, then If you are talking small amounts yes ATM or put your credit card purchases on to the UK account.

But if it is larger amounts and you have to do it now, then consider transferrring to a Swiss account but you will get taxed on the capital
