*Online* Bank Account for Garantie de Loyer

Hello there,

I am looking for a online bank that operates purely/mostly online to open an account there. I need something that is able to send out a contract to sign via mail or email and does not require to go at their branch to sign anything.

I have opened bank accouts in this way in other countries, so, I hope that this is possible in Switzerland too, that is the land of banks, isn't it?!

In particular I need to open an account with the goal of getting a "compte de garantie de loyer" to rent the house.

Unfortunately SwissCaution and FirstCaution are the only insurances that my regie would take and they do not work with people with the Carte de Legitmation type H. So, putting the hard cash in a bank account would be the solution, if I was there I can do it righaway, but from afar poses some difficulties.

Thanks for advising on possible providers for fully online banking and compte de garantie de loyer online.

Best,

Roberto

I do not think it is possible as most banks need you to go there in person to show proof of  identification

Hello Mayling I, thanks for sharing your opinion.

In fact the issue here is to differnciate those who are not part of "most banks". Documents and proof of ID can be mailed, generally speaking. I can make names of at least 3 or 4 bank account that I have had (and one still have) from banks where I never ever went in person to sign anything in any branch.

They send you the contract and you reply with proper ID attached and a duly signed contract. Later you get the access to the online banking, which is the only form of banking with them, unless you live next to their few (less than 5) branches in the country.

Just to give you a name of a well known player in this business, you can check

http://www.ingdirect.it/

This dutch bank will give you an italian bank account with just letters and emails, no visit to any branch.

That's what I am looking for ...

Roberto
