An good adoption lawyer should be able to answer that question.

There aren’t all that many Swiss children available for Swiss people to adopt, which is why so many Swiss families adopt children from the southern hemisphere.  The process is always long so I would say that the chances of a US couple being able to adopt a Swiss child and then take him/her to the US are somewhat remote, although that shouldn’t prevent you from trying.  Exploring possibilities with an experienced Swiss lawyer could well be a wise move and save much time and anguish in the long run.

All the best, Ritchie
