I'm planning to go to Evian or Yvoire with a friend on Sunday. Any tips on what there's to do and how best to get there?

the chateau in yvoire is very nice you can enjoy a nice lunch in the town. as for evian, it's a "has been" place. oh so touristy, expensive and not even worth the time. but, you may just want to go to say, "i've been there"......and pass on the advice like i am now. lol.

If you don`t drive, they do this little trolleytrain to Yvoire -

It think it picks up from both sides of the lake and about 30 minutes drive to Yvoire through the Geneva countryside. Then a couple of hours in Yvoire and either come back on the trolleytrain or you can upgrade for 5-10chfs more to come back via the boat, which I wish I had done. If its a sunny day its a really nice trip to see Yvoire that way. Once you get there, its very pretty to walk around but just a few shops and mostly restaurants, so plan to go for lunch...there is also the opportunity to get in the lake for a swim or paddle.
I would really recommend going on a lovely sunny day to see how pretty it is.
You should be able to get the itinerary, times and prices from either the tourist office or from any of the minitrains around Geneva, they have a little brochure, or there is a number on that website.
I`ve never been to Evian but if its supposed to be expensive and not much there then I would take the boat trip from Geneva, when they weather is good - and take a picnic!
Have a good weekend.

If you're driving, you'll need to go early as the parking in Yvoire on a Sunday will be a total nightmare. Its bad midweek.... If you do go there's a great place for lunch just past Yvoire. It has a fantastic huge terrace overlooking the lake. You have to book.
