Advise about buying a new bike

I have been looking in the internet which bike fits me(Physically and financially) but I got more confused instead with all the technical specifications (Shimano 105, ultegra, Tiagra...derailleurs by 1 or by 2).

I ve visited three bike shops in Geneva and I was deceived of the quality of the assistance they offered (well they didn't)

My question is if somebody (Biking club maybe) can explain to me the biking world or recommend me a bike shop in Geneva or arroundthat have the passion to help people?

Ps, I am sort of a beginner (I am biking 50 to 60 km with a mountain bike and now I want to switch to endurance or gravel bike )

Any hints?

Why not have a look at Péclôt 13 (https://www.peclot13.ch)? They also sell revised used bycicles.

I would try any small specialised bike shop - during the week when they are not busy . Just explain you need educating and someone will help ... often in English .Ask them to write down the specifications you need to look for and wheer they would recommend.

Behind the Rail Station there are a few bike shops like Peclot . I personally went to Bike Switzerland on Rue des Grottes ... a smal shop - English speaking . I did not buy a bike there - but they were very helpful .

Also Hot & Point Cycling in Pacquis... should help .

Hi Tim

Yeah, I have been in the hot point bike shop in Paquis but they did not help much. I will try the one in Grottes. Thanks for the tips :)
