Advise on must have LOYALTY CARDs in Geneva:)

Hi everybody,

I just wondering what is the list of must have discounts and subscription cards in Geneva.

Lets share interesting and useful ideas.

I found out the following:
- Assiette Genevoise: Restaurants, Price: 90 CHF per year.
Discount: you reserve for two in the restaurant of your choice according to their guide, by presenting your card, you will only pay for one meal (except drinks).

- Bibliotheques municipal: It was a nice surprise for me to get this free card. It is also interesting for those, who study French, as it has quite wide resources (books, CDs, DVD etc).

Transport:
SBB Demi-Tarif/Halbtax:

Gets a 50% discount on trains, buses, boats and most mountain trains and cable-cars in Swiss. Price : 150 CHF per year

Swiss Pass : Unlimited travel on Swiss Travel System's public transport network. Price is 3100 CHF per year

Abonnement « Tout Genève » Travel pass for public transport within Geneva.
Available for 15 days (35 CHF), 1 month (70 CHF), 1 year (650 CHF).

Shopping:
- Migro, Coop, Manor bonus cards : allowed to collect bonuses from every purchase and then spend it to gifts from these chains, special promos.
- Amavita pharmacy bonus card.

What is your list?

It could be also useful to get a card from IKEA, Pfister, etc.

Any other ideas/tips?

Question for you all, is there any way you can get "back credit" for discount cards? I signed up for the Co-Op card today after i bought a stove from Interdiscount and Washer -Dryer from Fust?

Ikea is a good card to have.  I got some serious cash off when i made a second purchase a few weeks later.  Carrefour in France do a card which then gives you money if you shop again within a few weeks.  Unfortunately I always end up missing the deadline and my money expires.  I guess i have thrown away money vouchers worth nearly eur20 in the last 3 months.

Other places offering fidelity cards are

the  “Sun Store” chain for both pharmaceuticals and toiletries.

Ditto the “Pharmacie populaire” chain, with lots of outlets all over GE canton.

FNAC and similar stores, including booksellers.

Many individual businesses also have a fidelity scheme – hairdressers, dry cleaners, patisseries, some small restaurants, etc. -- so if you patronize any particular shop or shops regularly, always ask if they give a discount to faithful customers.

Best, Ritchie

I find the Migros and Coop ones really good. Obviously, everybody shops at supermarkets all the time so even if it's slow, you still get points that eventually add up to vouchers.

If you want a tip, when I first moved here I bought some furniture from Migros Micasa because I had heard about problems with delivery with Ikea. I wanted both delivery and assembly. I went on a Thursday night where all Migros stores give 10x the number of points. I bought about 1000chf of furniture, and voilà, instant 10,000 points.

A few weeks later I got a ton of vouchers in the mail to spend at Migros!
