Allspice?
Does anyone know what allspice is in french and where I can find it? I thought it was just a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, ect. but turns out it's its own unique spice. So yeah, any help would be very appreciated.

Hi

I think it is quatre-épices and you should find them in any good Migros or Coop. If it's not that then I am sorry :-)

Cheers

Try the international food supermarket in Plainpalais. I am sure I saw it there. I will be going past tomorrow and will try to remember to check for you.

Can't remember the name of the shop but you can probably get almost all spices there, weighed out into little bags. They have quite  a selection behind on shelves behind the counter. Its wonderful.
Also interesting selection pulses, cereals,  and xxx number of interesting foods/ deserts from farther flung countries  - too complex for me to explain briefly here.
The name of street is not visible on google maps but I think it on the Rue de Corps Saints.(The road that runs from the top end of rue de Coutance - close to Manor - to the Rue de Temple. The shop is at the intersection  rue Vallin.
It's well worth a visit
