Alternative bars in Geneva?

Hey,

I have been here for a year now but still havent managed to find an `alternative bar` that we have tons of in Hungary (we call them ruin pubs). Furniture is mix and match, walls are randomly decorated, fun posters everywhere, cool lights and people do not wear suits:) The closest to it that I found is Cafe du Lys but its still not `the one`. So does anyone know about such place?

Invitation for a beer included if someone can really tell about a place like this;)

Heylo,

There's a squatter bar behind Cornavin station in Des Grottes, it has an old London bus sitting outside it (can't remember the name though!). Tis rather nice.

Otherwise, I believe that l'Usine has a bar too, which is as close to 'ruin' as you're gonna get here.

Sharon, are you talking about the l'Ecurie?

Aloyaa, there is also another one close by, but you can't tell from the outside it's a bar, I don't know whether it has a name even. It's tiny but often has bands playing and movie nights. The only way to give directions is to bring you there, which I would gladly do.

Then there's the Cabinet, not as 'ruin' though as you describe, but almost as alternative as it gets in Geneva. Last time I was there, the DJ was playing Italian Disco, damn good stuff.

Let me know if you find something else, am also on the watch for places like this.

Björn, I think that's the one!

@aloyaa, you can always try having a look around Plainpalais. There are lots of little bars there, it's very student-y, as the Uni Geneve has a lot of buildings around there.

or next to it the pachinko
