Well I also like a lot of others anime's non asian, but Akira for example is not a simple one it was a real revolution technically but artistically also... I like cyberpunk environment in general...


Miyasaki is very poetic that's why I like, and his work is also very representative of Japan society. Their culture, fears, dreams and suffering...


I think that european and amercian animes doesn't have the same taste of creativity and expression. They are made to push propaganda and so are always politically corrects, which makes them uninterresting for adults. I can appreciate the artistic work but usually the background is very poor and 1 million time already seen as in movies...

It sure is true that Japanese don't seem to be afraid to express strong criticisms on their on society in anime which you dont see so much in the west..


I am a big cyberpunk fan, and I also highly appreciate the works of Makoto Shinkai. That is quite a poetic something.
