who would be interested in becoming part of a new bilingual primary school initiative? I am looking for interested, motivated people who are willing to volunteer some time to make this project become a reality. Non teachers are also welcome...

Hello Tracy,
I know of a certified primary school teacher who used to teach to 4-6 years old in the USA in a biligual English-Spanish environment. Her main language is Spanish.
She is out of town at the moment but will let her know of your ad.
All the best with your project!

Also, Yes please nomades to letting your English-Spanish teacher know about the post upon her return. Thanks for the offer!
Thanks everyone who responded to this post and I am always looking for more help. You don't need to be a teacher. Anybody with marketing, graphic design, accounting skills, admin skills or who just loves children is welcome.

hi tracy,
I'm an Irish guy and I'm halfway through my masters in English at the University of Geneva. One of my masters seminars was on language teaching. I also have a diploma in French (again, from the University of Geneva), a degree in English, a diploma in Art History and a Celta language teaching certificate. I have been teaching English here in Geneva for the last two years. I can supply you with references.
This project sounds exciting!

Thanks again to all of you have expressed interest. Perhaps I can briefly describe what we are trying to do. We are hoping develop a bilingual (English/French) primary school (5-11 years). The school will work with an international curriculum that is also compatible with the Swiss system. Tuition will be on a sliding scale basis and we hope to keep the fees as reasonable as possible while keeping the quality of the education high. We wish to promote an interactive learning style and will be adopting a round table method (versus individual desks with teacher at the head of the class) and encouraging fun, educational projects and outings. We also intend to have developed music, arts, and sports/PE programmes. Our ideal location is in former restaurant/auberge in the Geneva countryside. This property is on 2 hectares of land spot in the middle of a natural preserve. We are still waiting funding confirmation, however, which will determine our ability to use these grounds. If this property does eventually become our home we would run at least one shuttle bus from downtown Geneva in the morning and evenings. The school will remain open at lunchtime with students having the possibility to bring their own box lunch or purchase or a hot or cold meal from the school. If anybody wants more information (or to fill out a preliminary application for your children) please don’t hesitate to send me an email via Glocals.
