Hi, the problem is that there are a few major differences between the US and European systems.


First, the mains voltage is different here, 220V and not 110V.


Second, the AC mains frequency is different, 50Hz not 60Hz,


And most important, the US TV system uses NTSC format, not the European PAL.


It will be easier (and cheaper) to buy a Swiss TV - good deals at the moment in Interdiscount (free delivery over 499CHF). Also try the larger Migros with an Electronics store.

Agreed.  There are a number of technical changes.  If the US TV will work on 230V/50Hz power, you might at least be able to use it as a monitor for a DVD player or a laptop or something.  Otherwise, I'd let it go.  Sorry....
