Having lived in the States for a while, I have become addicted to a truly beautiful and fun dance - the West Coast Swing... but I just couldn't find anyone who knew how to do it here in geneva... If there is someone who shares this interest of mine, may be we could get together to dance/learn/practice/progress together. Would be fun!
Very hopeful,

I admire your dedication to bananas. There are so few people left in this world who stick to their beliefs as passionately as you do and try to promote their values on all levels. :-)
I can assure you that West Coast Swing has several "banana" figures: a banana flop, for example; a banana sugarpush (all time favourite), and the banana wrap, of course!
Another visual example I can give you is that the man in WCS (West Coast Swing) plays a role of an inert banana: he just stays pretty much in one place while the woman moves back and forth. That's why men love it so much - the woman does all the work. :-)
Another interesting association: WCS is derived from a dance called "The shag" (I'm not kidding you). In the US, they even have a US Shag championship (and it's ALL dancing).
I hope I've been able to satisfy your urge to educate yourself in the issues of dancing. :-)

Hi Katya,
I have just recently discovered West Coast Swing, and I agree it is a really beautiful dance. Have you had luck in finding good classes/parties for West Coast Swing in Geneva?
Thanks,
Whio

Katya, Whio,
This si what I came across while I was looking for pretty much the same:
