I was out today for a couple of hours at Nyon plage..  I just bought a new board and keen to get out more on it!  I'm certainly no expert but didn't fall in today!

Heading to Rolle tomoro with the family for some more.

I doubt if i'd make it over to the GE side this week.. But I spent Saturday and Sunday out on the lake on the board, little bit sun tanned now!

At Rolle you can rent and there is a nice beach to walk in (ideal for beginner). Also nice to sit there and little buvet for drinks etc.

At Crans, you can rent also but you start off from a harbour, boat mooring type spot, little more difficult maybe, again buvet nearby.

At Nyon plage, didn't see rentals but seem to be there somewhere according to websites. Again nice beach to start from and good spot to sit, buvet etc.

I love SUP! Next time I go (in Geneva), I'll post something on this thread. Hope some of you will be up for joining. 

Hi guys, great to see the interest spiking as we are enjoying some sunshine in the city! Unfortunately I have a super busy week ahead and then will have a couple of weeks off, so I won't be able to organize anything till around mid-July. Then I'll set up an event and let you all know! I'm thinking we could paddle form Plage de la Reposiore, where there is board rental and a nice buvette. More from me in July!

Jenny: there's several beaches in Geneva where you can rent SUP. It's usually around CHF 20 / hour

Well, apart from weekends, would anyone be interested going after work one evening, eg 19h00ish?

Where are you thinking? 

My problem is .. Work in GE, live in VD.. It's not trivial to take the thing to the office by bus > train > tram.. And neither practical to go home and get it and come back after work, it would be dark already :)

Jen: I'm going this Thursday with my son, around 19h. Probably at Reposoir. You (or anyone else) very welcome to join. 

So I learned tonight that one may not use the paddle board in the lake beside the Nyon swimming pool, where it's supervised by lifeguards. 

If I start there and disappear and they can't see me any more they'd have to consider me lost... And I guess call the lifeboat or somthing .. But it's ok to start 100m away, just outside of the life guard area.

Did you learn it the hard way when the lake-police came looking for you, or the easy way when the lifeguards just told you to move 100m away?

I will go out for a paddle after work Friday and probably for a few hours on Sunday.. starting either Nyon or Crans. In case anybody is over that way

Normally you can rent here but I’m not sure the usual rentals will be available since it’s the big event.. But you can probably try out lots according to the site.

i have my own inflatable, same brand co-incidentally.

Just checked again on the site.. purchase a bracelet for 15chf and try out all available boards all day ..
