I will have friends over, who are interested in design and architecture. Could you recommend museums, walks, guides etc to accommodate the requests of my friends? We are mobile so can move easily around.

At the tourist information place you can pick up a leaflet/map for an 'Architecture Walking Tour' of Geneva. I haven't done it but it sounds like it might be just the thing.
Personally I would recommend a look round Les Grottes, the area round the back of the train station.

I recommend you stop by MB & F M.A.D. Gallery on Rue Verdaine 11 in the Old Town (either stop Rive or stop Place Molard on Tram 12). The owner is very welcoming and super cool. He and colleagues have published a little black guide with map (!) of what's fun in Geneva.

Not the most sexy thing in the world, but if your friends are into architecture, why not having a look at Le Lignon. From what I just read, it was in the Guiness at some point for being the longest building (more than 1k) in the world.
There is also this funny spherical little church in Pâquis which might deserve a peek.

Thank you so much to all of you for the useful hints!
The UN aids building is very well done and worth to see:
http://www.baumschlager-eberle.com/projekte/chronologisch/projektdetails/project/verwaltungsgebaeude-whounaids.html
(strolling around the nations-district is quite interesting anyway if your friends are into 60s architecture).
La tulipe - in case you are near by - it's a funny building in avenue de la roseraie
http://www.panoramio.com/photo/77935708
The MEG - Boulevard Carl Vogt
still under Construction but already worth to have a look at the building site
http://www.ville-ge.ch/meg/index.php
(near by Rue Ecole de Medecins where are a few bars to have a drink)
Hm, and maybe the Deutsche Schule Genf
http://www.dsgenf.ch/galerien/schulgebaeude/
And in case you're passing by the plaine de Plainpalais (what you should do at the weekend - saturday fleamarket, sunday market) have a look at the top of the roofs for the neon signs:
http://www.ville-ge.ch/culture/neons/
If you are looking for a reastaurant you could try the curiositas which is a bit pricy but with an interesting interior
http://www.curiositas.ch/galeries/les-salles/
It's located in the curtyard of the mamco (museum of modern art).
Otherwise I would really recommand the bain de Pâquis of course...

Enjoy, Katja
