Asking for permission for a gathering??

I would apreciate your opinion..

I will do a gathering to my place (around 20 people) and i was wonering if i should write a letter in the entrance if the building or the elevator, for the other tenants to apologize in case of noise. Nothing crazy, not late and not loud music of course.

What is your experience so far? What would you suggest?

Hi Maria,

Its generally considered a polite way to go about it. Yes. (A note taped to the elevator, or by the entrance.)

Especially if anyone in the building has a new baby.  If you feel so inclined you could ask if any neighbours want to drop by... its a good way to break the ice with them.

Even if you do make noise, you're allowed to untill 11pm in any case. Have fun.
