In France. Gosport in Annemasse just across the border. Do not buy in Switzerland. 2x as expensive. Or if you are going upmarket, drive to Lyon and buy there. Anywhere but Geneva.

Oliver. As my bikes always get stolen (or the last one was run over with me on it) I use the fourriere in Petit Sac.  Have onlyx been twice and out of the choice there has only been one that suited me but you can buy for 300-600 francs.

You can even buy Swiss army bikes but they have no gears.

I did once buy in Gosport in France and was not impressed.  And of course you could always start off by buying the wheel you found and build your own bike

Plenty of keen cyclists buy their bikes in Geneva.  It is just less hassle unless you are always going to France to shop

Still trawling through the new pages of petiteannonces.ch daily looking for that bargain race bike.... At the moment I have a good friend in UK offering me his upgraded Specialized Tarmac 2012 for 1000gbp, though I would prefer to find something here,

Is anyone looking to upgrade or get rid of a sexy road bike? thx

The post is old but could useful for many people:

So, my opinon ( after quite good research):

For new bike: https://www.fr.bikester.ch/

could get good bike for ~300 chf

For second hand bike: http://www.fourriere-velo-ge.ch/

Geneva city service which sells rebuilt and second hand bikes.

Hello,

Living in Geneva and commuting a lot by bicycle, I've made a small one-page site that gives you the 3 best bike shop in Geneva (personal preferences of course) - It would be great to have critics and personal opinions :)

Here's the site: http://bikeva.ch/
