Hi

Bank account is only available for resident persons.

But it seems it would be possible to open a bank account to Postfinance (La Poste).

Regards

A.B.

hi, yes the post will open an account if you have an address in switzerland. actually, you can even use a friend's address in switzerland  for this purpose. postfinance offers internet banking, so you can check your account, make bank transfers and pay bills in any currency. also, the post is the only bank which does not require american citizens to sign a bank secrecy waiver.

Hi,

I live in France but needed a swiss bank account as I am working in Geneva and therefore I am paid in CHF.

I opened my account at credit suisse (branch at Balexert). They did not request anything. My french address was just fine for them.

Good luck

Stephan

We live in Australia and have an account at the BCV in Montreux.  We have a local address in Montreux but no residency permit and have the mailing address in Australia.  It didn't seem to be a problem.

UBS has gotten rid of all their U.S. clients due to the tax problems UBS had in the U.S. but the other banks are OK.
