Bed with SOLID wooden slats? (sommiers)

Do these even exist? I hate these bouncy flexy springy things.. is it possible to find a bed (in/near Geneva) where the slats are FLAT and FIXED to the bed so that they don't move? I can't believe I've never seen one here.. is it a European thing?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I believe that any bed which can accomodate a sping-style sommier can also handle slats.  IKEA carries them, in fact.

I've only ever had a bed with slats here in Switzerland and other European countries, so definitely possible! Heres some more choice at IKEA

Agreed.  I have 18cm mattresses plus a 3cm surmatelas, all on LAXEBY sommiers.  The sommiers were a waste of money.  Wood planks would have been fine as the spring in the sommiers makes no difference under 21cm of latex.

is it IKEA? If so they may have them as spares. You find out the part number and order it. Also it might be covered by warranty, worth checking.

Given that they're just simple planks, you can get them at any bricolage shop. (Hornbach, Jumbo brico, M-doit..)

Just saw them to the correct length.

Doesn't matter if they're not the exact size as the originals. If they're thicker or thinner than the original slats, put them at the end of the bed.
