Beginners Photography Course "Limited time special offer*
Please read below and if interested, contact my assistant at [email protected] or message me on here for any queries or bookings.
Special offer! 8 places left! Beginners Photography lesson only 40 Swiss francs! (Normally 80CHF)

Course date: Saturday 23rd February 2013
Course date: Sunday 24th February 2013

Want to get the most out of your camera?
I'm here to help you get started with my beginner photographer tutorial.
I can help you to make the most of your current camera, to understand the controls and the technical aspects of photography. All of this will give you the knowledge to take better pictures. We will touch on composure briefly but we’ll mostly be learning the basics of camera control.

We’ll meet up and discuss basic theory over coffee. I’ll explain how you can apply these methods to your own photography. Most importantly, we’ll take a walk somewhere that you can practice the theory you’ve learned – because I believe that applying these skills and seeing the results will really allow you to learn the art of photography.

Don't worry about getting your chance to ask questions, the group size will be limited to 4 people. We will take around 2-3 hours for the tutorial which will be split 50/50 theory and practice. I won't be sticking to this time; it's just to give you an idea. We may well go over 3 hours and that's fine, I'm interested in your progress, not just rushing you through a course.

In our beginner course we will mainly focus on technical aspects, if you're interested in learning about how to improve something specific (composition, lighting, strobing and flash photogrpahy) then get in touch and I'll be happy to help you out!

Specifically what will you learn?
I tailor make courses to suit the needs of the people attending. Depending on the group, you can expect to be taught about the following: Shutter speed, aperture control, depth of field, ISO, noise, colour, lighting and how to combine these and get the results you want for portraits, night time photography, travel pictures, moving children and sports.

Sounds like a lot to take in?
Don't worry! I'll give you a set of notes about what I've told you with practical examples on paper so you can go away and read more. That way you'll be all ready and prepared for the next level!
Please note: smart phones and very basic digital cameras will not be suitable for this tutorial you will need to be able to put your camera into manual mode. If you're not sure, contact me and tell me what you have, I'll check and let you know.

The cost?
A mere 40 Swiss francs for a 2-3 hour course!

What are you paying for?
A professional photographer and assistant on hand to answer your questions, guide you through learning some of the basic technical aspects of photography and to take you out and help you apply these techniques on the streets of Geneva.

About you
Arrive with a digital camera which is suitable (Any camera which has a manual mode), if you're not sure then ask me beforehand.
Arrive ready to listen, ask questions and go take pictures.
Be 18 years old or 13 accompanied by someone who is 18.
Have a good understanding of English.

About me
In my spare time I enjoy shooting landscape and travel photography, but my experience is not limited to this area. I can guide you in macro photography, wildlife, natural world, architectural, portraits, sports and events.
I'm here to answer questions and make your pictures stand out from the crowd. Most importantly I'll help you to avoid common mistakes which many people make!

Why learn with me?
I can show you a consistent portfolio of work I have done.
I don't take large groups, I believe that small groups offer the best chance to learn, some photographers take groups two or three times the size.
I am interested in your development; I know that you'll leave with the knowledge required to progress quickly to the next level.

Are you more than a beginner? Get in touch!
If you're already past beginner level I offer one on one tuition at 80 chf/hr. This is my standard hourly rate and I guarantee value for money, I don’t clock watch and I don’t rush to leave! I can tailor make courses to suit your abilities and look forward to working with you.

Group booking?
I can arrange a course suited to your ability and group size, get in touch and I’ll work with you to develop something which meets your requirements.

How to book?

Send me a message and either me or my assistant will contact you to complete booking.

As this is a special course and such a low price I’ll request payment on booking to reserve your space. Payment is non refundable if you simply fail to attend and guarantees your place on the course.
The only circumstance where refunds will be given is if I’m unable to attend, but if you contact me 48 hours before the course starts you can change for an alternative date if there is space available.
