Best time to get to st cergue for cows with flowers in head?

Hi

The web site is a little vague for the Desalps in St cergue this saturday, so can someone tell a first timer when is the best time to get there to see this slightly crazy swiss tradition?

Also any tips on must do's/see's would be cool

Thanks

We're going . And have been talking alot to locals and long-termers here to get the lowdown..

Opinion seems to be go early, we're going about 8am.. It's VERY busy. Parking is difficult, one car park near town for those with kids or limited mobility, one a couple of km away for the rest.. Train is rammed like something from Dheli .. It's all over by lunchtime.. If it rains it will be a river or excremement.

Oh and it's really good..

According to the pdf of the flyer on the saint cergue website (the edges of it get cut off for some reason), it starts at 8:30am with the bell ringers (people walking through the village carrying massive bells that they bounce off their thighs). It's supposed to be warm and dry tomorrow so expect everyone, their brother and their dog. But it's fun, the raclette is worth standing in line for and there's plenty of wine and beer. :)

sorry Peaky its in French but starts at 8.30, nice early start for a Sat ;-)

From 'http://geneve.onvasortir.com/desalpe-298731.html' site
