What is a bike wash station? I've never used one.

Can't you just use one of the many high-pressure cleaners? (I've used teh one at Balexert)

Like Tawb I just use the high pressure hose in a car wash.  These did not exist when I was young and I actually had to clean mine with a cloth and use a chrome polisher.  If however bike washes exist in some more advanced countries ( which probably have perambulator washers and roller skate washes) why not ask a bike shop?

Paul, hadn't garden hoses been invented when you were young?

I do not think so but there was not much room for a garden in the shoebox where the six of us lived but we were given a new box every time it rained.  And by keeping our bikes outside they were cleaned by the rain.   The one problem using a high pressure hose is that it removes  the oil off the chain.
