Biking around Genf

Hi I live in a small city (Lugano) with 20'000 people in it. Never lived in a bigger city before.

I'm moving to Uni in Geneva in September and I'm considering bringing my bike there; the fact is my bike is worth 2000 chf and I wouldn't enjoy if they stole me heels or other pieces of it.

So my question is: can I leave the bike around the city without it getting stolen? Ofc I'm locking it hard, but I can't save it all so I'm wondering if I gotta go with a cheaper bike .

Thanks in  advance for your tipps!

Save your nice bike for the sportives.  This is a fun one:http://www.cyclotour.ch/?lang=en

But get a cheaper one, maybe even a mountain bike, for commuting.
