Borrow a dog?

Hi,

In some cities the local dog pound lets you take a dog for a walk for an afternoon.  Does anyone know if this is available in Geneva?  It's difficult for me to own a dog (I travel a lot), but it would be nice to just take a pooch for a stroll on a Saturday afternoon.

Otherwise, if anyone just wants me to walk their dog, that's cool too :)

You can walk a dog from the local shelter in a beatiful setting, at Bernex (bus 2 and 19) every Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday 2 pm to 5 pm. More details here

http://www.sgpa.ch/

You just need to leave an ID, and they give you a doggy to walk. Should you have any questions, just let me know. (They don't speak much English).

Hi ,

I miss my dog who  passed away  3 months ago , he was a  adorable   Malthese and 11 yrs old ,  and due to  cancer , the vet had to put my baby  to sleep !

I also miss having a malthese as my companion , as he was like a child to me , but im still not in a stage to be able   to replace his place with a new  one  .

In fact  i would appreciate to borrow  a malthese for couple of hours from time to time , and spend sometime with your malthese  .

Thanks

Tannaz

In Bernex there are all sizes, sometimes even puppies. The pictures of dogs on the website is not updated: many dogs are not posted. You have to go there to see.

Also if one truly loves dogs shouldn't mind too much the breed nor size of the dog, as long as you can make it happy by offering your time and affection. Anyhow, bravo to all of you who volunteer your precious time to make the lives of these less fortunate dogs better. =)

Dear Cindy  ,

Each breed has it's own characteristics  , therefore the individuals must have the potential to deal with those specifications !

What a great idea to borrow a dog for a weekend, I love it. My kid loves dogs, but we can't get one to live with us cos the dog will be alone all day. I'll take the kid to walk the dogs at SPGA, but even better would be to borrow a dog for a full weekend and bring the dog to our place...that dog is going to get so much love (and scooby snacks) that weekend!

So if anyone wants to give his/her dog away for a weekend, I'm game!
