Broken dishwasher, landlord refusing to pay

Hi all,

I have a rented appartment with a dishwasher included. It has been broken for a few months. I called the regie who arranged a worker to check it and produce a 'devis' estimate for about chf300

Now I found out that the landlord has refused to pay for it.

I think it's quite clear that this is not a 'petite reparation' or 'routine maintenance' as per the CO 159 legislation so the landlord should pay.

I will go to see ASLOCA this week to get their advice on writing letters and withholding rent (consignation) but wanted to post here to see if anyone has any tips.

Needless to say the regie de rhone has been terrible in dealing with this, avoiding contact etc.

You can reimburse this cost with your "assurance menage".

I think you meant 259 CO, but anyway, I confirm that to my knowledge repairing the dishwasher is not a "menus travaux" or some "petit entretien".

Going to the ASLOCA seems to be a good idea.
