Budapest Nightlife

Hi,

I will be going to Budapest with my boyfriend and want to experience the nightlife, which I hear is some of the best! We love Euro-house music. I am reading about so many places in Budapest not to go to due to tourist scams, so I am looking for some safe suggestions. We will be staying near the Chain Bridge and would like to go somewhere with a great house dj and somewhere that is posh/trendy.

We also plan on going to the Faust Wine Cellar under Buda Castle for a tasting. Does anyone know if this is good? I've read a lot of great reviews.

Thank you!

Cafe Bouchon > This restaurant also serves Hungarian and all kinds of great food and big choice of wines, nice service, not too expensive  ... closed on Sundays though. Have fun! :-)

Pubs are good in Budapest and the food is often better than in restaurants.

May favourites are Portside (very good food and quite lively at weekends), Alcatraz (prison theme - including "cells" you can sit in) and Oldman's (live music) - all easily found in central Pest.

For clubbing, looking at your requirements I would say the Dokk, it's located on a small island (Hajógyári-sziget). It's more expensive than other places but it's worth a go.

I haven't tried Wine Tasting but if you are looking for hungarian food I recommend Firkasz Etterem (Tátra utca).

ah it's ok Reka, Budapest is a very nice city!

I lived in the 7th district, but I am not hungarian.... I did have the chance to go to a restaurant that was mostly Roma (I want to be PC), and the musicians the food etc very fun!

it was an actual roma restaurant, though they claim is not common to find Roma food places.

I also recommend people if they have the chance to go south of hungary and see Szeged.... I really enjoyed the city, very young FULL OF BARS, CAFES, DISCOTEQUES!

About the Spas Reka, I didn;t visit kiraly yet but I will.... I am spending christmas in Hungary and also in the 7th district there is another spa being renovated and it looks very luxurious called Hungaria!

About hungarian food ahahaha Reka I am married to a hungarian chef so trust me I already know a lot... especially Lángos! hungary's best creation ever LOL

Oh my God Reka, in Budapest you and I are almost neighbors.... Holmes place my partern used to go work out there!!!

My place of residency in Budapest is in Sip Utca, right in front of the Jewish Mazsihisz

I live about two streets from the pretty synagogue, not far from Dohany Utca!!!

Hungaria is like a new hotel with some bath facilities but not totally a spa like Rudas or Gellert..... I heard from a good friend of mine that their water source is dry!!  and for tourists looking to party the best festival in Budapest has to be sziget.... have u been there?

by the way holmes place in Geneva is nothing compared to the very luxurious one in Budapest!!!
