does anyone know where i can find a handman to fix floor burns? i have a few minor black burns on my flooring from momentarily dropped charcoal that need fixing.

Do you have parquet flooring ? If so, you will need to find a qualified
worker.
Also, if you are renting from a régie or a private individual, it may be advisable to inform them of the damage first, because it will in any case have to be recorded when the “état des lieux” report is drawn up when you vacate the premises, whenever that might be. This means that you could be asked to pay for the renovation of the entire floor, something that can and does happen when, say, stiletto heels have dented even just part of aa parquet floor.
