If you are buying a diamond ring, the cost is not important. It is the size and setting that matter :)

And the cut.
Take a trip to Amsterdam rather than the UK.

Hvae to agree with Ritchie here...try Costers...
Go to New york, and with the exchange rates and deals there, you should get a quality and bigger diamond that you can get in UK or Europe.

New York may be OK for size and the price, but the setting is not always to European taste.

Well Daniel is from South africa, and Richie is from UK,
Daniel you got suggestions for
*Amsterdam
*UK
*New York
and All have different settings, just like in France, Italy, Germany, Spain.
Quality, price and size is still great/best in New York because of the large volumes sold in the USA. Not just ok.
USA is no. 1 end sales diamond market in the world, so the shere volume and choive is in NYC, and you can get a really nice ring at the right price.
Combined China and India could surpase the USA 36% by year 2020, but today USA is by far the largest.
The U.S. is far and away the world’s largest diamond market. Its $27 billion in revenues are more than three times the revenues of No. 2 market China or No. 3 market India—and twice those of the U.S. mobile phone market

@Katrien: Any objective recommandation is most than welcome. What if it is a subjective one? As you are an associate partner in your business at Geneva office, are you offering any of us buying at Baunat Geneva an additional rebate on any diamond and setting purchase with a nice cut, nice clarity and nice color ( including an independent certificate from G.I.A. free of charge ) ? Thought it will be a swell promotional offer on Glocals. Nir and Buy Club would love that.

Hi Alfi,
Thank you for your reply, and concern. I would like to leave the subjectivity to others, who can compare.
A deal can surely be discussed, and all our diamonds come automatically with an independant certificate (GIA, HRD or IGI, free of charge). But I think this is not the place to discuss this, feel free to PM me. Regards.
