I hope I contacted everyone who responded on this forum, if not let me know. I receive a lot of messages about this. I would like to talk to a few of the glocals "responsibles" to see if we can organize some kind of large-scale tour. It seems it shouldn't be hard to fill them up.

Dear all,

Thanks for letting me know. It seems there's more than enough interest, so I'll try to arrange something with the Visits Service at CERN. In the meantime, our particle physics laboratory is open for anyone to visit. There are two (free!) exhibitions, called Microcosm and Universe of Particles, which elaborate on the history of CERN and what we are doing exactly. These exhibitions are also open for children.

As soon as I talked to some glocals administrators about organizing a tour, I will let you guys know.

For now, you can always contact the Visits Service directly to see if there are places available in tours that are already organized. About 100.000 visitors come to CERN yearly, and there are many guides to show you around in different languages. As I told many of you already, just contact the Visits Service directly: [email protected]

If you want you can ask me (Marco van Woerden) to be your CERN guide, but if I am not available one of my colleagues will show you around. :)

I am still trying to get in touch with someone who's willing to organize the tours with me on glocals' behalf, as I need a "responsible" from the organisation (in this case glocals) that I am showing around, for administrative reasons. Sofar, the adminstrator I emailed hasn't reponded, so perhaps by posting this on the forum helps. :-)

I organized a CERN tour at the 6th of July, 2013, starting at 15.00. You can find it in the glocals agenda.

- Children and pregnant women are not allowed on the tour;

- Do not wear open shoes (even though July is quite warm, open shoes are not allowed);

 - PLEASE do not send me messages asking me to "count two" (or more) people, you can really only sign up if you have an account on glocals, as this is a glocals tour.

Any chance that you'll be doing a tour in August? I'm coming with my son (14) and it would be terrible if we couldn't get on a tour. Private tours are all booked up, and I've had no luck trying to sort a tour elsewise.
