Cake making/decorating classes in English?
Does anyone know where I can go to learn how to bake? Of course where they do it in English.
Thanks much!

 Hi Sherrie,

you want to make a traditional Christmas Cake or do you mean normal Birthday Cakes like chocolate cake, apple crumble, lemon cake, ..?
If you want to learn to bake a Christmas cake, you should hurry because these traditional Chritsmas cakes should be made weeks prior to Christmas. I don't know how to make it but if you want to learn how to bake a 'normal' cake, I would be happy to help you :-)
If you want to learn how to decorate cakes, I have no idea where you can learn it. I would be very interested as well! Please let me know if you 've found some courses!

Ciao!
Stéphanie

I see that this thread is a bit old, but I'd like to know if you ever found a cake decorating course in Geneva or surroundings?

Hope to hear from you!

Hi Ladies!

Thanks for your responses, but I still havent found a place that teach baking & decorating cakes.

I'm dropping by just to ask if anyone here is interested in joining a class on how to make macaroons at Katrepices cooking factory http://www.katrepices.com/

I have booked a session to be conducted in English on 2 April 2011 at 3 p.m. The fee is CHF75 per person. There are still 5 places available.

Please let me know if you're interested.

American Food Avenue in Cologny sells a lot of Wilton supplies; their web site is: www.AFoodAve.ch.  There's a restaurant supply store just behind Cornavin that sells tips as does Aligro.  Just beware, they're not numbered as the American ones are.  You have to be able to recognize your tips to know which ones you're going to buy.

hi all! i am new to this forum. My husband and I will move to Geneva this May, he first and i join him in June. Currently i am based in Paris and i travel between Geneva and Paris.  I bake a lot and am currently doing a professional course on this.  If you need supplies etc, i can get them for you and pass it to you the next time i am back in Geneva - just send me a msg here or a private msg. I have conducted classes before to adults on how to bake macarons. If this is of your interest, when i am move permanently to Geneva, i can conduct workshops on this topic.

Hello Marta,

I have just seen this chat which goes back to January as I was looking for cake designer classes.  Are you giving any class on it, any time soon around Geneva?  I would love to take one class.

Thank you for letting me know.

You could also do online cake decorating classes?  I'm an online member at Pretty Witty Cakes, and I invite friends round and we make cakes together around a bottle of wine!!!  It's just such a laugh.
