Can I be declared independent with just 1 client?

Dear all,


I am currently unemployed and was offered a consultant post by a Swiss company but they told me that they wanted to hire me as an independent consultant and for that I will need to be declared independent. As I am unemployed, I am eager to take up anything to get started but I understand that to be independent, I will need at least 3 clients. Anyone with experience 'freelancing' with 1 client without being declared independent?

to be sure  it is better to google and asked the right swiss organization.


I also heard min. 3 clients but can be discussed

As predecessor said, you need 3 different clients. Otherwise, you are a "salarie".


I believe you can earn max 1000 frs per year w/o registration as independent.

I see. Thank you for your response. I saw similar information regarding clients. I will best chat with the company to see what needs to be done in the event I can't be declared as independent. I'm also not entirely sure I want to be independent full time. It was just to remain connected to the job market while I find something more permanent.
