Car taxes

My friend have a Opel with motor 1.4 , he pay 150 Fr. per month taxes and ansurance.

Somebody knows the taxes grid in Geneve, if I buy a car with motor 2.4 or 3.0 litres?

Hi Dmitry,

it depends on the horsepower - here you have a list for Geneva

(1KW=1,36 HP)

First of all! why in the world do you need that big engine! i don't understand why people go after big engines when you can not drive more than 120km/h on highways and most of the time these engines are used in city where you never use more than 25% of the engine power!

Second thought! if you can afford that big car with fule cost and why are you worried about taxes! Maximum car tax will be not more than 800 a year for 3.0 liter engine (depends on energy efficeny) you can check here

Car insurance depends what type of insurance you are going to take! it also depends on your nationality/Age/driving license period and the car price.
